I'm not entirely sure I get it. First of all, a horse doesn't have the biological tools to put the egg back together. Hooves don't have fingers, let alone opposable thumbs, so wouldn't that just do more harm to the shell? I suppose the horse could try to push the egg together with it's nose, but wouldn't it be too tempted to just eat the yoke instead of trying to put it back in the shell? And, if it's a king's horse, shouldn't it be in a nice warm stable being spoiled with sugar cubes, or off aiding a heroic knight on his quest for heroism?
What was Humpty doing on a wall anyway? If you're an egg, you're not exactly known for your balance, so why would you put yourself in a position where lack of balance could be fatal? How would an egg even get on top of a wall, it doesn't have arms or legs to climb. I think there's something very shady about this whole story.

Shady, indeed! the thoughts are grat! What led you to Humpty?
This is truly astonishing. I ran into Humpty all weekend. I went to the city and at the 50th Street Subway station, I saw Humpty hanging with Alice, in Wonderland. Then I went to the Palay Media Center and watched an episode of The Muppet Show. Brook Shields was doing a rendition of Alice In Wonderland with The Muppets!!! And right in the middle of it all, was the story of HUMPTY DUMPTY! And just to agree with your point, the King's horses and the King's Men all came and tried to help after he fell of the wall. Once the Horse ran over and started trying to help, he just looked up with a look of helplessness on his face, knowing that he could not truly help the situation!!!!
